Hometown: Boise, ID
Major: Sociology; French
Minor: Environmental Studies
Fun fact: One of my favorite games is go fish with my grandmother and little sister, where we each speak a different language: German, French, and Latin.
Favorite honors class: Wisdom Literature (TH 232H) with Will Kynes was a marvelous experience of deeply understanding these books of the Bible, while creating some unique projects and having fun conversations with both the professor and classmates.
Favorite honors experience: I’ve really enjoyed how the honors program gave me the excuse to take classes outside of my major and gen-eds. I participated in theology, and computer science classes and met some wonderful students outside of my major. I also appreciate that these courses are not limited to Honor Students, so each time I attend an honors course there are some new faces among the familiar ones.
Value of the honors program: I’m grateful for the variety in the honors programs. Some classes read or watched films I would not have seen otherwise, assigned a project of making a website, or taught me how to apply to a grad school. While Whitworth is, in itself, an excellent place to be, these are experiences I would not have had outside of the honors program.
