We are always excited to hear about Whitworth Honors students submitting to local and national publications, especially when they get accepted. The Palouse Review is a literary arts journal based out of Washington State University Honors College, they accept submissions in Fiction, Nonfiction, Scholarship, Poetry, Photography and Visual Art, and Music. The Review is built specifically for current and former honors students at schools within in the. Western Regional Honors Council. The most recent edition was published officially on December 1st of this year and contains the artwork of one of our very own Whitworth students.
Elizabeth Atwood submitted and was published the Palouse Review with her piece Collecting Dust. Here is the official readout Atwood provided: “Collecting Dust is a piece that explores the topic of collecting and the passing of time. I specifically focused on how collecting freezes time for the items being collected. The chemistry glassware collected from different experiments over the years stays the same on its shelf while the world changes outside the window.”
With a last name starting with ‘A’, Atwood is at the very top of the Photography and Visual Art section, linked here. The Honors program is so proud of her for getting her work published and putting herself out there!
