Welcome Prospective Students!

We’re excited that you’re interested in the George F. Whitworth Honors Program and the rigorous mind-and-heart education here at Whitworth. The honors program provides unique opportunities for both first-year (including running start) and transfer students.

Want more information about Enrollment and Academics in the Honors Program? Look no further!

Special note: The Admissions Office heads up decisions about students admitted with Honors. Students admitted with Honors are not required to enroll in the Honors Program upon matriculation, but they are certainly encouraged to do so. Once students matriculate to Whitworth, they must enroll in the Honors Program. They can do so during Summer Registration and by signing up with an Honors Advisor.

Check out the First Year Honors trip! We go to Hawaii and Italy on alternating years. In 2026 we went to Hawaii, so in 2027 we’re going to Italy– will you be there?

P.S This is the ONLY Jan term trip first-years can go on!

Check out all the cool things we do on campus!

You can attend one of our many Honors Lunches each semester, or maybe present research at the semesterly Honors Showcase!

The Honors Capstone project is the icing on the cake for our program. You get to research anything of your choosing for a whole year and then present your findings at our Exhibition every Spring! This is a great resume addition and a fantastic experience!
