The Straight and Narrow Ridge: Queer Activism and Resistance at Whitworth and Beyond
A small Christian university in Spokane, Washington isn’t the first place you think of when you think about queer activism. You might be surprised to learn that queer activists have been active at Whitworth since at least 1970, demanding change and acceptance. Inspired by recent student activism and the resulting changes to Whitworth’s hiring policy, this project looks at the history of queer activism at Whitworth, Spokane, and the Inland Northwest.
